Good customer service should of course come as standard at any hotel, no matter how much the stay costs, but it has to be said that many reviews have only high praise the staff that work at this hotel. Staff are generally said to be very helpful, and offer high-end customer service in keeping with the hotel's luxury status.

The décor at this hotel is said to be exquisite, with the Art Deco styling proving really popular with guests. The furnishings and fittings, which includes a number of antiques, only add to the luxurious feel. To cap it all, a sculpture by award-winning artist Anthony Gormley adorns the outside of the building.

All guests requiring a drop-off within Mayfair have complimentary use of the hotel's vintage Daimler and driver. This is a wonderful touch of style, and you will no doubt be in full agreement that this is much better than hailing a black cab!

Some guests have expressed surprise at a five per cent service charge being added onto their bill at the end of their stay, regardless of how much they have used the hotel's services or how long they have stayed for.

For a hotel that prides itself so much on providing a first-rate experience for its guests, the complimentary continental breakfast is a surprisingly disappointing affair. A number of guests have expressed serious disappointment with it, and feel that for the price of a night here a cooked breakfast should be included.
